The Mets' pitching staff wasn't too shabby over the last seven games despite a couple of gaping holes in the starting rotation. With 22 runs allowed—3.14 runs per game—the staff was fairly effective. Without the bullpen's meltdown last night, the stats would have looked excellent for the team.

This week's player meter covers the Mets' games from August 26 through September 1.

It was a perfectly effective, if unspectacular, week for the veteran righty.

With a 4.91 ERA, Atchison sent himself to his room following the week.

In his lone appearance between his recall and demotion, Carson gave up a home run for the ninth time in just 19.2 big league innings this season.

You just can't write off the first two months of the season, but Gee has been downright excellent since that 12-strikeout game at Yankee Stadium.

Germen went a long time before allowing his first big league home run, but that—and plenty of other damage—was charged to him in three outings this week.

We'll find out in a few weeks whether or not Harvey will undergo Tommy John surgery.

After two very rough weeks, Hawkins bounced backed nicely with a pair of scoreless outings.

There's a reason James Kannengieser would rather do all of these things than watch Daisuke pitch.

Niese was very effective in a couple of starts and has looked very good since returning from the disabeld list. Let's hope the leg cramp that took him out of the Sunday night game doesn't send him back there.

Like Harvey, Parnell is still waiting to see if he'll need surgery. Unlike Harvey, it's his neck, not his arm, that's ailing him.

One bad outing last night in Washington ruined an otherwise good week.

Likely best suited for a bullpen role in the long run, Torres made a very good spot start on top of a relief appearance and totaled a 1.23 ERA with 6 K and 0 BB in 7.1 IP.
Zack Wheeler, RHPImage may be NSFW.

With 10 K, 2 BB, and a 2.70 ERA over two starts, Wheeler continued a recent stretch of very good pitching.
