Over the past week, the Mets had little trouble scoring runs. With a pair of 11-run games, the team scored 38 runs in total over seven games, an average of 5.42 runs per game. Aside from a couple of struggling rookies, the individual performances at the plate this week were pretty good.

This week's player meter covers Mets games from August 26 through September 1.

PlayerLast WeekThis WeekComment
Andrew Brown, OFBrown only got on base 26 percent of the time, but he flashed a little bit of power and looks like he's capable of earning a benhc spot for 2014.
John Buck, C--Buck didn't play in any games this week before getting traded to the Pirates. As a Met, he had a .287 wOBA and 82 wRC+.
Marlon Byrd, RFByrd picked up a couple of hits in his final game with the Mets and is off doing his thing in Pittsburgh.
Travis d'Arnaud, CIt was an ugly week at the plate for the rookie, who had just a .523 OPS and 6 K to 1 BB. Someone out there is probably calling for a TRAID.
Ike Davis, 1B&Despite an impressive opposite field home run in Washington, Davis had a mediocre week at the plate and is now sidelined with a strained oblique, likely for the rest of the season.
Matt den Dekker, CF--Called up to the big leagues for the first time this week, den Dekker hit a long home run last night and posted an .808 OPS in 13 plate appearances.
Lucas Duda, 1BDuda was only a singles hitter this week, but that's not terrible when accompanied by a .385 OBP.
Wilmer Flores, 3BPerhaps his barking ankle hindered his approach at the plate, as Flores hit .067/.067/.067.
Juan Lagares, CFWeeks like this one-.348/.400/.435 with continued good defense—make it easier to dream on a bright future for Lagares in center field.
Daniel Murphy, 2BWell, hello, good Murph, it's nice to see you again! The streaky second baseman hit .448 with a 1.069 OPS.
Omar Quintanilla, SSWhile Quintanilla's .666 OPS on the week sounds pretty terrible, it's just a shade below the major league average .678 mark for shortstops.
Anthony Recker, C--Back in the big leagues with Buck gone, Recker had a 2.750 OPS. Sure, it was only 4 plate appearances, but gaudy small sample stats can be fun.
Josh Satin, 1BWith Davis on the shelf, Satin figures to see all of the action from here on out against left-handed starting pitcher. In four games this week, he was neither great nor awful.
Justin Turner, IFBy role player standards, Turner had a good week at the dish. By fWAR, however, he's still been sub-replacement on the season after posting a couple of slightly positive marks in 2011 and 2012.
David Wright, 3BWright's down in Port St. Lucie continuing his rehab on his hamstring and hopes to make a return this season.
Eric Young Jr.After a few good weeks upon arriving with the Mets, Young cooled off quite a bit. This week, however, was like those early ones, as he put up a .423 OBP and .500 SLG and stole 5 bases without getting caught.
