The Mets split a doubleheader with the Nationals, winning the first game 11-0 behind Jenrry Mejia and Daniel Murphy. Unfortunately, they dropped the nightcap 2-1. Matt Harvey was excellent but the Mets' offense was...not.

Dillon Gee takes the hill this afternoon as he'll face off against Dan Haren for the Nats. First pitch is at 3:05 PM and you can catch the action on Fox.
Mejia was fantastic in his first big league start of the season, which is a really nice thing to see from a guy who was once so highly thought of. The Mets will keep Mejia on the roster by demotingKirk Nieuwenhuis to Triple-A Las Vegas. Mejia will continue starting as the Mets move to a 6-man rotation. With Kirk down, Juan Lagares will get the everyday job in center field.
Justin Turner left the nightcap with a charley horse in his shoulder and leg after colliding with Andrew Brown in left field early on in the game.
Travis d'Arnaud and Lucas Dudaplayed full games with the GCL Mets yesterday.

Around the NL East
The Phillieslost to the Tigers 2-1 last night as they continue to slide and on top of that, Cliff Lee was scratched from his start today due to neck stiffness. Well, at least they signed Cuban righty Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez to a $50 million contract.
Mike Minor pitched well as the Bravesbeat the Cardinals 4-1.
The Marlinsshut out the Pirates 2-0 behind the arm of Henderson Alvarez. The Rangers are calling the Marlins every week to check in on Giancarlo Stanton. What stalkers!
Around the Majors
Ryan Braun lied to a lot of people and one of them was Aaron Rodgers, who said he'd bet a year of salary that Braun was clean. Oops.
Pirates' closer Jason Grilli is likely to be out 4-8 weeks with a forearm injury.
The YankeesreacquiredAlfonso Soriano, getting him from the Cubs. That .287 OBP will definitely help.
Here's something cool: Topps will begin adding WAR to the back of its baseball cards.
It is really fun to watch Jose Iglesias play defense, even if he's only playing third base for the Red Sox right now. #want
Barret Loux was taken a pick before Matt Harvey in the 2010 MLB draft. He's still in the minor leagues. This draft thing certainly isn't an exact science.
