The team has also met with Robinson Cano, Jhonnny Peralta and Chris Young this winter.

New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson met with free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson on Sunday, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com. The Mets have long been linked to Granderson, and are expected to make a serious run at signing him in the next few weeks.

Granderson is seeking at least a three-year deal, according to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News.

The Mets have had a busy offseason in terms of meetings, having dinner with Robinson Cano's representatives and also meeting with Jhonny Peralta and Chris Young. While Peralta went to the Cardinals and Cano is not expected to sign with the Mets, the team signed Young as the first part of their outfield rebuild. A source indicated over the weekend that the Mets also want to meet with free agent starter Bronson Arroyo, and conflicting reports have indicated that they may or may not have a meeting scheduled with him.

Granderson, who hit .229 in 61 games in an injury-shortened 2013 season, has also been linked to the Yankees, Cubs, Astros and White Sox this offseason, but no team has been labeled as the favorite to this point. The Yankees are very interested in bringing him back to the Bronx, and will likely try to re-sign him at next week's Winter Meetings.
