There are bad weeks at the plate, and there are weeks like the one the Mets just had. Considering how each of the individual hitters below performed, it's somewhat of a surprise that the team scored 13 runs in eight games. That's an average of 1.63 runs per game. For reference, the worst scoring rate in baseball this season belongs to the Miami Marlins, who have averaged 3.21 runs per game.

Mike Baxter, OF--In 13 plate appearances, Baxter hit .077/.077/.077. Yikes.
Andrew Brown, OFLike some of his peers, Brown hit for power but made too many outs.
Travis d'Arnaud, Cd'Arnaud hit .238 with no walks and no extra-base hits, but at least one of those singles plated a game-winning run.
Matt den Dekker, CFWith a .498 OPS, den Dekker wasn't one of the Mets' worst hitters, but he still wasn't very good.
Lucas Duda, 1BDespite a pair of dingers, Duda hit just .207 with a .281 OBP for the week.
Wilmer Flores, 3B.182 across the board on this slash line. My goodness.
Juan Lagares, OFWith a .268 OPS—yes, OPS, not OBP—Lagares had one of the worst weeks of any Mets hitter this season.
Zach Lutz, IFWith a .364 OBP, Lutz earns the sideways arrow, a rare achivement this week.
Daniel Murphy, 2BA home run and two doubles propped up Murphy's .400 SLG, but he made far too many outs this week with a .258 OBP.
Omar Quintanilla, SSQ's .286 OBP might look okay if it were a batting average instead.
Anthony Recker, CWith a .286/.375/.286 slash line, Recker might have been the second-best hitter on the team this week.
Josh Satin, 1BThis is getting depressing. Satin hit .091 with a .167 OBP and no extra-base hits.
Ruben Tejada, SS--Finally back from the minors, Tejada hit just .067/.067/.133 in five games.
Justin Turner, IFAt .333 with an .833 OPS, there is no doubt that Turner was the best Mets hitter here.
David Wright, 3BIt sounds like Wright will return from the disabled list tomorrow. Help us, David, you're our only hope.
Eric Young Jr., LFYoung followed up a couple of very good weeks with a real stinker, hitting .161/.235/.226.

This week's meter includes the Mets' games from September 9 through 15.
