The Los Angeles Dodgers are attempting to set a record for the best 46-game stretch in franchise history when they take on the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium on Monday night.

For more on the Dodgers, head over toTrue Blue LA.

The Dodgers equaled their best 45-game run in team history by beating the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. Their 37-8 record during that time frame matched stretches in 1899 and 1953, but the team hasn't had a consecutive 38-8 record during the modern era, dating back to 1900.

Ricky Nolasco (8-9, 3.65 ERA) is scheduled to take the hill for the Dodgers at 10:10 p.m. ET. Los Angeles has won five of Nolasco's six starts since acquiring him from the Miami Marlins in early-July, with its lone loss occurring on July 14 against the Colorado Rockies.

During their historic run, which began on June 22, the Dodgers have gone from 9 ½ games back in the National League West to 7 ½ games ahead of the rest of the division entering Monday's slate of games.
