Every other Sunday, I will be taking a quick look at some of the top prospects at the AAA level, including their stats for the season, and if anything stands out about the performance. The season stats may not always tell us the whole story, but there are usually also some updates on how they are doing these things as opposed to just the numbers themselves. All statistics are courtesy of Fangraphs.com and are through the games of Friday, 7/26/13.

- I took a look at Mets' infield prospect Wilmer Flores, and wondered whether he could be in New York soon. Since then, he has been placed on the disabled list unfortunately, so that will slow his timeline somewhat.
- Speaking of the Mets, Travis d'Arnaud has begun playing in rehab games, and it would not surprise me if he was called up at the end of the minor league season in September.
- We saw Rangers' 3B prospect Mike Olt included in the package that netted the Rangers Matt Garza, and Brian Creagh provided analysis on what his role could potentially be going forward..
- Grant Green was called up prior to the All Star break, but has since returned to AAA after starting out with a 0 for 15 stint. He'll be back, but I wonder if he could potentially be a piece the team looks to move to try and acquire a piece at the deadline.
- The Astros have started the next wave of their youth movement, as they called up Jonathan Villar to be the starting shortstop for the rest of the season. I would imagine that we could see Jonathan Singleton in Houston before the end of the year, but with him currently hitting .191 in AAA it may not be until September.

- Andrew Ball took a look at Orioles' prospect Eddie Gamboa, who has remade himself throwing knuckleballs as well as a fastball and a slider.
- Craig Goldstein looked at Mariners' pitching prospect Taijuan Walker, who could potentially be in line for a call up in September as well despite being just 20 years old.
- Over the Monster gave us some updates on the Red Sox' AAA affiliate, including Allen Webster.
- The Mariners' Danny Hultzen remains shut down with shoulder problems, and at this point I'm wondering if we see him throw again this season. Hopefully we do, or the questions will persist through the offseason when it comes time to do rankings again.
