The Mets couldn't carry their Harvey-Day hitting into the series opener against Atlanta, falling to the division leaders by a 2-1 score. No Mets were suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season though, so there's that. The box score can be found here.
Noah Syndergaard has been looking like a brilliant pickup by the front office, but the other major piece of the R.A. Dickey TRAID, Travis d'Arnaud, was cleared to resume playing baseball yesterday. It still looks as if it will be September before we see him in Flushing, but it's progress.

The other big news happening in the baseball world yesterday involved the trade of starting pitcher Matt Garza to the Texas Rangers. Remember when the Rangers were supposedly hesitant to give up Mike Olt for Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey? I'm glad they were.
The Garza trade drew a very mixed reaction from Rangers fans, while it seemed to get a much more favorable reaction from the fans over at Bleed Cubbie Blue. Cubs fans didn't have too long to react to the Garza move before moving onto a potential deal for Alfonso Soriano.
