The 2013 Mets really don't seem to care about those of us that enjoy sleep, taking part their 16th extra inning game this season and the 4th that has reached 15 innings or more. They eventually won 4-3 in the 16th, long after a I had passed out. The full boxscore can be found here.
Beyond the 5 hour and 26 minute victory, Mets fans had a bit more to read about and smile. Two prospects were selected in the BA midseason top 50 list, with both key pieces of the R.A. Dickey trade ending up in the top 25. Wilmer Flores, Cesar Puello, and Rafael Montero all missed the list.

Mondays are usually player performance meter day, and yesterday was not an exception. We had both hitters and pitchers up in case you have missed some of the games this past week.

Around Baseball
The Mets weren't the only team in the division to play extras yesterday, as the Braves and Marlins played 14. The Braves won that game 7-1, and no, that isn't a typo. I had to double check that score when I saw it though, as 7-1 just doesn't seem like the type of score a 14-inning game should produce.
The Nats and Phillies only needed nine to get their game finished, with the Phillies winning 3-2.
