Triple-A - Las Vegas 51's (35-25)_______________________________________
FRESNO 9, LAS VEGAS 4 (Box)
Welp, the news from this game is that Noah Syndergaard--who was returning from an injury scare to his precious right elbow--injured himself covering the plate following a wild pitch. Apparently, he stumbled over the runner and hurt his left (non-throwing) shoulder. We should have MRI results sometime today.
Roster Update: Cory Vaughn was promoted to AAA, for some reason

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (31-27)_____________________________________
BINGHAMTON 5, ALTOONA 8 (Box)
Angel Cuan got knocked around the park, allowing seven runs in three innings, to lead the B-Mets to an 8-5 loss Thursday night. The bullpen pitched pretty well--allowing one run in five innings, striking out eight--reminding me of last year's Bingo bullpen, which was absolutely ridiculous. Since Matt Reynolds had an MRI on his back, he's had games with three, four, and three hits. The guy is a BABIP machine this year. It doesn't look sustainable but I'll gladly be wrong about that.
- LF Kyle Johnson: 1-5, R, 2B, 2 K
- SS Matt Reynolds: 3-5, 2 R, RBI, K
- C Kevin Plawecki: 1-4, R, 2B, RBI, BB, K
- 3B Dustin Lawley: 1-4, BB, 2 K
- CF Darrell Ceciliani: 1-4, RBI, K
- RF Travis Taijeron: 0-4, K
- LHP Angel Cuan: 3 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (34-26)________________________________________
ST. LUCIE 4, DUNEDIN 7 (Box)
Matthew Koch had a very Koch-ian outing last night, allowing nine hits in five innings while walking none and striking out six. Giving up five runs isn't necessarily a Kochian thing to do, but he just strikes me as a guy who pounds the strikezone all day, almost to his detriment, allowing lots of hits and surrendering few (understatement) walks. Actually, the most un-Kochian part of his line last night was the six strikeouts. Brandon Nimmo struck out twice again, which has pushed his strikeout to walk numbers over his last ten games to very un-Nimmoian (too much with the -ian, I know) levels.
- SS Dilson Herrera: 1-4, K
- CF Brandon Nimmo: 0-3, BB, 2 K
- 2B T.J. Rivera: 3-4, R
- C Cam Maron: 1-3, BB, K
- 1B Aderlin Rodriguez: 1-4, R, 2B, 2 K
- IF Phil Evans: DNP
- RF Eudy Pina: 2-3, R, HR, 2 RBI, BB
- LF Maikis De La Cruz: 1-4
- RHP Matt Koch: 5 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 6 K
Low-A -Savannah Sand Gnats(38-19)__________________________________
SAVANNAH 1, CHARLESTON 5 (Box)
Miller Diaz gave up more runs than he normally does and the Sand Gnats scored fewer runs than usual and thus a loss was inevitable on this night. LJ Mazzilli had three hits and continues to be one of the hottest hitters in the system. Amed Rosario started at short and didn't make an error, which seems to be the most positive thing I can gleam from his game tonight.
- RF Patrick Biondi: 1-4, K, CS (8)(!)
- DH Gavin Cecchini: 0-4, K
- 3B Jeff McNeil: 1-4, R
- 2B L.J. Mazzilli: 3-4, 2B, RBI, K, SB (9)
- 1B Dominic Smith: 0-4
- SS Amed Rosario: 0-4, 2 K
- LF Stefan Sabol: 0-4, 2 K
- CF Champ Stuart: 1-3, BB, K; I love Champ Stuart. Looks like he's done some work to cut down on the strikeouts in the offseason. Hopefully he plays everyday the rest of the season for the Gnats.
- C Colton Plaia: 0-3, BB, K, E (5)
- RHP Miller Diaz: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 6 K
Star of the Night
Eudy Pina, because he deserves it.
Goat of the Night
Noah Syndergaard.
