Dillon Gee was sharp, and the Mets' lineup was productive as the team won the series finale against the Rockies.
The Mets finally got a win in Colorado on Sunday afternoon. Dillon Gee was very good in six-plus innings of work, and five Mets hitters reached base at least twice. Curtis Granderson plated the first run of the game with a single in the first, and David Wright and Chris Young each doubled in a run in the third. In the fourth, Daniel Murphy doubled in a run, too, and staying true to the team’s form, Lucas Duda doubled in a run in the seventh.
Gee left the game after allowing a couple of baserunners to start the seventh inning, but he finished with no runs allowed, five strikeouts, and one walk. He now has a 2.51 ERA on the season. After he departed, Carlos Torres and Scott Rice completed the seventh without giving up a run, and Jeurys Familia threw two innings, allowing one run on a leadoff home run in the ninth by Justin Morneau but no other runs.
