The Mets were blown out on Friday night, dropping their second straight game against the Rockies.
For the second straight night, the Mets were blown out by the Rockies. Zack Wheeler made the worst start of his major league career as he allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks with just one strikeout in four innings of work. Four of those runs scored in the first inning, erasing the one-run lead the Mets had after the top of that frame.
The Mets scored two runs in the sixth on a Curtis Granderson home run and flirted with a bigger inning with two on and nobody out before Ruben Tejada grounded into a double play. And after Jeurys Familia threw a scoreless fifth, Carlos Torres followed suit in the sixth but gave up three more Rockies runs in the seventh. That was pretty much it.
