The Mets defeated the Braves and got back to .500 on the season in a very long baseball game.
In the final game of a three-game set, the Mets defeated the Braves on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Curtis Granderson in the bottom of the fourteenth inning.
Before that, Zack Wheeler turned in another effective outing, finishing the day with a final line of six innings pitched, six strikeouts, three walks, six hits, and three earned runs. Gonzalez Germen and Scott Rice combined for a scoreless seventh, Carlos Torres threw up a pair of goose eggs in the eighth and ninth, Kyle Farnsworth threw a scoreless frame in the tenth, Daisuke Matsuzaka threw three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and one walk, and Jose Valverde threw a scoreless top of the fourteenth.
With that, the Mets are now 9-9 on the season.
