SACRAMENTO 5, LAS VEGAS 6 (Box)
Trailing 5-1 entering the bottom of the 8th, the 51s batted around the order and plated five runs to complete the system sweep and beat Sacramento 6-5. Jacob deGrom got the start and was solid over five innings, allowing one run and two walks while striking out five. The broadcast had him touching 95 a few times, which was nice to hear.

BINGHAMTON 9, NEW HAMPSHIRE 1 (Box)
The B-Mets got on the board early and often, jump-started by Dustin Lawley's second inning two-run homer and paced by Darin Gorski's six strong innings on their way to a 9-1 victory in New Hampshire Thursday night. Gorski struck out 10 and walked just two in his six innings, which is a surprising line for a guy who now tops out around 87 mph. Lots of solid offensive performances in the lineup on this day. I'm encouraged to see Matt Reynolds gather three hits. He's a guy who has been somewhat force-fed to us over the past year, so it would be nice if he could brighten his prospect sheen.

Where to begin? 20 hits! 13 runs! Oh my! And a solid outing from Gabi Ynoa to boot. But I want to start with Brandon Nimmo, who went 2-4 with two walks and his first home run of the season. It's really encouraging to see him knock a home run already after hitting just two last season. And the two walks are just the icing on the cake. Another strikeout, yes, but that seems to be a feature, not a bug, of the Nimmo system. What I mean by that is Nimmo is a very patient hitter who works many full counts and actually strikes out looking at a higher rate than any other batter I've seen. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Jairo Perez, who had five hits, and TJ Rivero, who had four hits and 5 RBI, both of whom were key to the Mets' domination on this night.

SAVANNAH 12, ROME 4 (Box)
Not to be outdone by their upper level sibling affiliates, Savannah banged out 15 hits and six walks on their way to scoring 12 runs and crushing the Rome Braves. Much like the other games, there were so many good offensive performances it's tough to know where to begin. Patrick Biondi continued his hot start with three hits and a walk in five trips. Jeff McNeil is producing like someone who's old for the level should if they want to be considered a prospect. I guess the only disappointment would be that Dom Smith didn't get a hit. On the pitching side, it's interesting to note that Rob Whalen was piggy-backing off of Miller Diaz. This is something the Mets have done in Savannah the past couple years. They tend to wait for one of the piggy-backers to separate themselves and grab hold of the role, which neither did with their outings last night.
