The Mets carry Bartolo Colon into The Big A for a weekend series with the Halos. Tyler Skaggs gets back to the mound and Jered Weaver seeks to rebound after being disappointing this season.
This weekend, we have plenty to look for. On Friday, Tyler Skaggs returns to the mound after his stellar season debut against the Astros. On Saturday, Jered Weaver is back on the hill to to get out of his nasty funk. And on Sunday, the Angels get to see big boy Bartolo Colon enter The Big A yet again as a visitor. That game will feature the former Angel going against C.J. Wilson.
As we all know, Josh Hamilton is gone due to a thumb injury and J.B. Shuck has been called up from Salt Lake. The Angels now have to rely upon Mike Trout and Albert Pujols even more now that Hamilton, who was just getting hot, is out for a good amount of time. Hamilton was the only Halo with double digit hits and has (as of now) the highest batting average. So now Hamilton is being as useful as he was in 2013; however, we would actually appreciate him being in the lineup this season.
The New York Mets continue to be a grab bag. Sometimes they pull out a win, but they are generally a mess. Being that I am in their market, I have gotten the chance to catch a fair amount of their games. And I can tell you that they are an inconsistent mess. No batter will jump out at you. Even David Wright has been widely underwhelming so far. But some days the pitching will be good. All three pitchers being faced this weekend have not produced many walks and Bartolo Colon, specifically, has been that Bartolo Colon that a team keeps signing. In Tuesday's game in Atlanta, Colon shutdown Atlanta
Sit down, relax, and check out what is in store for this weekend.
