The Mets haven't had many good weeks at the plate this year, but last week was one of them. They're still at just 3.96 runs per game for the season, but watching them score plenty of runs—particularly in a Matt Harvey start—makes watching the team a lot more enjoyable.

This week's meter covers the team's games between June 17 and 23.

PlayerLast WeekThis WeekComment
Andrew Brown, 1B/OF--In just 3 plate appearances, Brown managed to hit a home run. That'll work.
John Buck, CWe're not in April anymore.
Marlon Byrd, OFIt was another surprisingly good week for Byrd, who had four doubles among his ten hits.
Collin Cowgill, OFCowgill didn't hit much early in the week and was designated for assignment when the Mets acquired Eric Young Jr.
Lucas Duda, LF/Before he hit the disabled list, Duda had a .550 OBP for the week. Get well soon, Lucas.
Juan Lagares, OFWith a pretty good week at the plate and some nifty defense, Lagares looked like a capable center fielder. It'd be nice if he could establish himself as a major league player by the end of the year.
Daniel Murphy, 2B/1BMurph's been cold for a while now, and his .443 OPS this week didn't make things any better.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OFHe didn't play much, but when he did, he also didn't hit much.
Omar Quintanilla, SSIt might not look like much, but a .333/.355/.370 line from a shortstop is pretty good.
Anthony Recker, CWith the hectic schedule, Recker actually made a pair of starts this week—a rarity—and put together a .958 OPS in the process.
Josh Satin, IFIn 13 PA, Satin drew 5 walks
Ruben Tejada, SSTejada isn't making much, if any, progress in his rehab stint.
Justin Turner, IFToo many pies thrown.
Jordany Valdespin, 2B/OFJV1 hit an impressive .200/.429/.800 with 1 HR and 2 BB in 7 PA.
David Wright, 3BDavid Wright is just the best, as evidence by his .361/.378/.778 line with 3 HR this week.
Eric Young Jr., OF--Someone sent Young the memo about wildly overperforming and raising Mets fans' expectations in his first week with the team. If only the Mets could acquire a new outfielder every week, they'd hit .400/.500/.600 in the outfield.
