You thought the awards season had concluded one month previous? Well, sir or madam, adjust your thoughts accordingally because Jerry Seinfeld just won the MLB Network Social Media Awards Celebrity Fan of the Year alongside Cardinal fan Andy Cohen. No word as to whether a new podcast "Celebrity Fans in Cars Getting Coffee" will result from these recent developments.

Ryan Freel, the former eight-year MLB outfielder who claimed to have suffered as many as ten concussions during his career, passed away last December from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at age 36. After his passing, the Freel family donated his brain to the Boston University Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy and Sports Legacy Institute. Today it was revealed he was suffering from Stage II CTE at the time of his death.

Per Drew Jenkins, former Metropolitan backstop Brian Schneider was named the manager of the Jupiter Hammerheads, the Florida State Affiliate of the Marlins.
