A look back at another injury-plagued year for the center fielder.
After a shoulder injury hampered Matt Kemp at the end of the 2012, the center fielder dealt with shoulder, hamstring and ankle injuries throughout the entire 2013 season.
What went right?
Not much for the 2011 NL MVP runner-up. Kemp played in a career low 73 games and finished with a slash line of .270/.328/.395. The center fielder only hit six homers and drove in 33 runs.
Kemp's best month was also his shortest. In July, the 29-year-old played in five games and went 7-19 with three homers and eight RBIs. Kemp didn't hit more than a single home run in any other month during the 2013 season.
Kemp did hit .319/.388/.556 from June 25 through the end of the season, but only played 22 of a possible 87 games during that span.
When Kemp was in the outfield, he did make some nice grabs.
What went wrong?
Nearly everything. Kemp couldn't catch a break the entire season. He didn't hit his first homer until April 24 against the Mets. Kemp hit just .251 until he went back on the disabled list on May 29 with a right hamstring strain.
The center fielder came back on June 25 before he went back on the DL with a shoulder injury 10 games later on July 5. Kemp sat out for a little more than two weeks before he came back on July 21. The center fielder went 3-4 with a homer and three RBIs against the Nationals on the 21st, but also sprained his ankle sliding into home plate after loafing down the line. and went back on the disabled list.
Kemp missed nearly two months until he came back on September 16. Kemp hit .314/.385/.486 in 11 games, but ankle soreness led to more examinations and he was shut down for the postseason with sever swelling in his ankle that could cause it to break at any moment.
Kemp had surgeries on both his right ankle and left shoulder in October.
2014 status
Kemp will make $21 million in 2014 and has six years and $128 million remaining on his contract.
At the beginning of the 2013 winter meetings, baseball analysts and journalists were reporting from numerous sources that Los Angeles was talking with Detroit, Seattle, and Boston about a trade involving Kemp. But on Wednesday, general manager Ned Colletti and Kemp's agent, Dave Stewart tried to squash those rumors.

At this point, it looks like Kemp will suit up for the Dodgers when they face the Diamondbacks on March 22nd in Sydney, Australia. But which Kemp will he be?
