New York is apparently still not satisfied with its outfield situation.
Yesterday's John Harper report about the Mets having limited resources to spend this winter may lead some to believe that Chris Young is going to be New York's only outfield import this winter.
According to Ken Rosenthal, though, the Mets are still in the running for another corner outfield bat.
The #Mets, after reaching agreement with OF Chris Young, remain in the mix for another right-handed hitting outfielder, Nelson Cruz.

Cruz was suspended 50 games last season for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, but what is a warning sign for some is a buy-low opportunity for others. The 33-year-old right fielder is not a good defensive player by any means, but he's been a consistent slugger throughout his tenure with the Rangers. Last season, Cruz hit .266/.327/.506 in 413 at-bats, and he's slugged at least .500 with an OPS over .800 in four of the last five seasons. For more on Cruz, check out our free agent profile of him.
