If you always wanted to spend a night with Mets first baseman Ike Davis, here's your chance. This Sunday, August 9, Davis is hosting a charity event to benefit Solving Kids' Cancer, a nonprofit organization whose dream is to "extend life for children with the deadliest forms of pediatric cancer today while making survivorship possible for all children by 2015," and the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative, whose mission is "to improve the quality of life for people dealing with sarcoma." The event will be held at City Winery on Varick Street after the Mets-Braves game at Citi Field.
Attendees will be treated to an open bar with guest bartending by Davis and some of his Mets teammates (tentative list of Metsies is below); interviews by Evan Roberts from WFAN; auctions!; and a live performance by country star Lee Brice.
Though the lineup is subject to change, Mets players expected to be in attendance include:
David Wright
Jon Niese
Daniel Murphy
Matt Harvey
Dillon Gee
Mike Baxter
Ronny Cedeno
Lucas Duda
Robert Carson
Kelly Shoppach
Josh Edgin
