The Mets went to extra innings yet again in Cincinnati this evening, but they lost shortly thereafter on a walk-off single by Shin-Soo Choo in the bottom of the tenth.
Before that, Aaron Harang allowed two runs in the second inning—one of which came via a bases-loaded walk of Joey Votto—but nothing else in six innings of work. The Mets' bullpen kept Cincinnati off the board until Choo's hit.
Lucas Duda plated the Mets' first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third, and he tied the game with a solo home run in the sixth. But Johnny Cueto and four Reds relief pitchers kept the Mets in check otherwise to keep the game tied after Duda's blast.
