One of the great Mets traditions of recent Septembers has been looking ahead to the following year, and today that effort can be redoubled.

The Mets have announced their tentative 2014 schedule. They will open the season at home against the Washington Nationals on March 31. They will also host the Cincinnati Reds on their opening homestand, from April 4-6, before embarking on their first road trip, which will take them to Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Arizona.

This year the Mets will face the AL West in interleague play. They will play the Angels in Los Angeles (April 11-13), the A's at home (June 24-25), the Rangers at home (July 4-6), the Mariners in Seattle (July 21-23), the A's in Oakland (August 19-20), and the Astros at home (September 26-28), which will be their last series of the year.

The Mets will play each of their NL East rivals 19 times, with ten games apiece in Philadelphia and Miami, and with the Nationals and Braves coming to Citi Field for ten games each.

The Mets and Yankees will square off for four games again this year, from May 12-15 (12-13 in the Bronx, 14-15 in Queens)

They will make four three-city road trips this year, including one right after the All-Star break which will take them to San Diego, the aforementioned Seattle, and Milwaukee.

The full schedule can be viewed here.
