Minor League Baseball has announced that 24-year-old left-handed Mets minor league relief pitcher Chase Huchingson has been suspended for 50 games for his "second violation of a drug of abuse." What drugs fall under "drug of abuse," you ask? Lynn Worthy has you covered:

"drug of abuse" in MLB’s drug policy includes: hashish, marijuana, cocaine, LSD, Oxycodone, heroin, codeine, morphine, ecstasy, and PCP among others.

In terms of performance, Huchingson was having a good year for Double-A Binghamton. In 45 appearances, he had a 1.61 ERA with 9.1 K/9 and 3.9 BB/9.

To fill Huchingson's spot on the B-Mets roster, the Mets demoted Jack Leathersich from Triple-A Las Vegas to Binghamton. Although Leathersich maintained a very high strikeout rate after he was promoted to Vegas earlier this year, his walk rate with the 51s skyrocketed to 8.33 per nine. He was dominant with the B-Mets before the promotion, though, with a 1.53 ERA and 1.63 FIP. If nothing else, he should be able to help the team in its playoff run in the Eastern League.
