"Now it's like I'm not even shocked anymore," Eaton said. "He goes up there and I'm like, 'He hit a walk-off, no big deal, it's just him, he's going to do it.'"

Adam Eaton

"He got ahead with his slider, missed with a curveball and then he threw [a cutter] and luckily it was up, and I was able to hit it hard and get it out of here."

Paul Goldschmidt

"I worked him like anybody else," Atchison said. "Tried to be aggressive, get in there and get ahead. I was able to do that, and then just left a cutter up. He's a good hitter and obviously has some good power to all fields, especially there. He made me pay for a bad pitch."

Scott Atchison

"My mechanics were off a little bit," Corbin said. "I didn't really control my pitches too well tonight, but I think down the stretch I made some pitches, felt a little better."

Solid Goldschmidt, Diamondbacks Take Game One Against Mets on Goldschmidt Walk-off

Patrick Corbin worked through command and control problems to pitch six innings of two-run baseball. The defense gunned down two wayward Mets that tried to take the extra base, one of them at third, the other at home. The Diamondbacks put together timely hitting, the last hit being the timeliest of all - a one out, bases empty, opposite field home run by Diamondbacks first baseman, Paul Goldschmidt. The win makes three in a row for the Arizona Diamondbacks who watched Tampa Bay squander a huge lead against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers Refuse to Lose

The Dodgers got a very good look at reigning AL Cy Young winner, David Price. Through six innings, the Dodgers remained shut out, and were losing 6-0. After seven innings, they had managed to push across one unearned run against the Tampa Bay ace. Then in the ninth inning, down 6-3, they were greeted by Fernando Rodney, the dreaded Tampa Bay closer. However, Rodney threw 21 pitches, recording only one out, and surrendering four runs to let the Dodgers come from behind and win the game 7-6.

Haren 13th to Beat All 30

Dan Haren's best years may be long behind him, but the Washington Nationals' starter accomplished a feat on Friday night that reminded baseball just how good he used to be. With the Nationals' 9=-2 victory over Philadelphia on Friday night, Dan Haren became just the 13th pitcher to record victories over all 30 MLB teams.

Pujols Ready to Sue Jack Clark

It seems that Albert Pujols has taken exception to comments made by Jack Clark on a St. Louis radio talk-show. The former all-star related a story about how Pujols' former trainer, Chris Mihlfeld, had approached had approached him about using PEDs and how Mihlfeld was using the then minor league Albert Pujols as an example of how his PEDs were successful. Pujols denies the allegations and is preparing to sue.
