There were a pair of games featuring the NL East yesterday, featuring the Miami Marlins and the Phillies. The Marlins lost in extras, falling to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The other team in Pennsylvania also managed a win, smashing the Cubs 12-1. Chase Utley was so overjoyed with the victory that he signed an extension with the club. Michael Young and Jimmy Rollins also cleared waivers, and the Phils added Luis Encarnacion.
You don't get to see a position player striking out a relief pitcher all that often, and you should do so when you can.
