Dillon Gee tossed 7.2 strong innings and the Mets scratched out a pair of runs in the fourth inning against Rockies' starter Jeff Manship, as they defeated Colorado 2-1 to complete the sweep. For the Mets, it was their first three-game sweep at Citi Field this season, with the only other sweep at home this year coming at the hands of the Yankees back in May.
Gee was once again incredibly efficient, as he tossed 87 pitches and 65 for strikes over his 7.2 innings. He allowed eight hits, including a home run off the bat of Corey Dickerson, but walked none and struck out three. The Mets got their two runs in the fourth. Wilmer Flores hit a slow roller with the bases loaded to score the first and move the runners to second and third. The next batter Anthony Recker hit a sacrifice fly to center to plate the eventual game winner. LaTroy Hawkins tossed a perfect ninth for his second save.
