Although the New York Mets currently sit 12.5 games behind the NL East-leading Braves, the team has shown no indication that they are ready to become sellers at the trade deadline.
As Joel Sherman of the New York Post notes, the team would be willing to listen to offers for outfielder Marlon Byrd and closer Bobby Parnell, but teams' offers are not high enough to warrant a move.

Byrd, who was signed to a minor league deal before the season, has drawn interest from many teams looking for a right-handed bat.

While there were three actual trades going down on Monday, there was a lot going on behind the scenes. Here's a quick recap of everything you need to know before the trade deadline.The 35-year old has hit .281 with 17 HR and 59 RBI on the season, meaning that the Mets would be wise to get a prospect or two in return for the soon-to-be free agent.
While teams like the Rangers would like to add Byrd's bat to their lineup, New York has asked for top 15 prospects in return, according to Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News.
Parnell is under team control through the 2015 season, and will be even harder to pry away from the Mets.
As Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports, the Mets are looking for a team's top prospect in exchange for the 28-year old closer.
Because the price tag is so high, the chances of a Parnell deal before Wednesday are extremely low despite the strong market for late-inning relief.

The Mets have received calls about the availability of rehabbing lefties Pedro Feliciano and Tim Byrdak, according to Sherman, who adds that the team has been disappointed in the lack of interest in Eric Young Jr., John Buck and Daniel Murphy thus far.
