They're not done just yet!

You probably thought the Mets were done signing free agents this winter. Nope! According to boy wonder reporter Chris Cotillo, the Mets are one of four teams interested in signing free agent left-handed reliever Joe Thatcher.

After spending the first six seasons of his big league career in the San Diego bullpen, Thatcher was dealt to the Diamondbacks in 2013 and traded to the Angels in 2014. Last season he struck out 27 batters and walked just four in 30.1 innings, but Thatcher struggled upon being shifted to the American League and ended up with a 3.86 ERA.

For his career, Thatcher has a strikeout-to-walk ratio of about 3:1, and he's faced about the same number of right-handed batters as lefties. On Opening Day, he'll be 33 years old.

New York has made no secret of its desire to bring in another left-handed arm to complement Josh Edgin in the bullpen. The team has already signed Duane Below to a minor league contract and added Sean Gilmartin in the Rule 5 Draft. Thatcher would be a step up from those two thanks to his significant major league experience.
