The website released a list of 20 players who barely missed top-100 status.

When MLB.com released its top 100 prospects list earlier this week, we were happy to see that five Mets had made the cut. Shortly after, the website released a list of 20 more players who are also worthy of praise and high expectations. Two more Mets made this list: shortstop Amed Rosario and first baseman Dominic Smith.

Here's what MLB.com columnist Jim Callis had to say about Rosario:

All of his tools grade as solid or better with the exception of his power, and he still might grow into 15-homer pop that would give him more than most shortstops.

And on Smith:

Which is the real Dominic Smith -- the guy who got drafted 11th overall in 2013 because of his premium bat and power, or the one who hit just .271/.344/.338 with one homer in low Class A?

It appears that Rosario missed the top 100 based on his youth and distance from the big leagues, while Smith still has plenty of potential but disappointed with his lack of power in 2014. For what it's worth, Keith Law of ESPN included both Rosario and Smith in his personal top 100. It's safe to say that both players still have enough room to grow and are still talented enough to make Mets fans very happy in the future.

Also included by MLB.com was Gavin Cecchini's brother Garin, who is a third baseman in Boston's system.
