Meet the Mets
The Mets made a move! It's not a blockbuster, but former Phillie John Mayberry Jr. should provide some right-handed pop off the bench in addition to occasionally filling in for Lucas Duda.
The Rule 5 Draft happened, and the Mets picked up left-handed pitcher Sean Gilmartin from Minnesota. However, they also lost five players to other clubs, including Logan Verrett and Greg Peavey.
One of the players protected from being drafted was Jack Leathersich. He recently spoke about how excited he was to be promoted to New York's 40-man roster.
The Mets have not given up on finding a shortstop, and the Dodgers seem to be open to moving Erisbel Arruebarrena.

We thought that Boston might trade Yoenis Cespedes for a pitcher. Unfortunately, it wasn't for a Mets pitcher. Yesterday, Detroit added the slugger by shipping Rick Porcello up to Boston.
The Red Sox continued revamping their rotation by nabbing Justin Masterson on a one-year deal.
Detroit filled the void in its staff by trading for Cincinnati's Alfredo Simon.
Andrew Friedman continued to wheel and deal for the Dodgers. First, he sent the recently acquired Andrew Heaney to the Angels in exchange for Howie Kendrick. Next, he traded Matt Kemp and Tim Federowicz to San Diego for a package including Yasmani Grandal.
Heaney wasn't too bitter about being shown the door so quickly.
To help replace Kendrick, the Angels acquired Josh Rutledge from the Rockies by trading away pitching prospect Jairo Diaz.
The Dodgers also addedBrandon McCarthy off the free agent market. When asked why he didn't make an offer to McCarthy, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman sounded a lot like Sandy Alderson.
The Twins signed former Brave Ervin Santana for four years and $55 million.
Kansas City inked Kendrys Morales in order to replaceBilly Butler in the middle of its lineup.
