MiLB.com announces its Mets' organizational All-Stars.

Another strong overall season for the Mets' minor league affiliates left no shortage of candidates for MiLB.com's annual organizational All-Star selections. Led by prospects Dilson Herrera (second base), Kevin Plawecki (catcher), and Brandon Nimmo (outfield), New York's minor league affiliates produced a cumulative .550 winning percentage in 2014, with Double-A Binghamton winning its first Eastern League title in 20 years. In addition to Herrera, who appeared in 18 games at the major league level, Andrew Brown (outfielder) and Matt den Dekker (outfielder) were the only other members of the group to play in Queens in 2014.

Joining Herrera and Plawecki on the infield were Allan Dykstra (first base), Matt Reynolds (shortstop), and Brian Burgamy (third base).  T.J. Rivera was selected in the utility role while Marcos Molina (right-handed starter), Steven Matz (left-handed starter), and Akeel Morris (reliever) rounded out the pitching selections.

Interestingly, two of the choices, Brown and Dykstra, are no longer with the organization. Brown was selected off waivers by the Oakland Athletics in late October before being granted free agency. Dykstra recently signed a minor league deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.
