The Mets announced the report dates for spring training in 2015.
Earlier today, the Mets announced that pitchers and catchers will report to spring training on Thursday, February 19, 2015. Position players will report on Tuesday, February 24, and the first full team workout will take place on Thursday, February 26. And the team will play its first spring training game on the road against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, March 4.
Of course, many of the team's players have reported early to spring training over the past few years. There figures to be quite a bit more excitement around camp this year, as Matt Harvey is set to make his return from Tommy John surgery at the start of the 2015 season. Top pitching prospects Noah Syndergaard, Steven Matz, and Rafael Montero figure to get extended looks in the major league portion of spring training. Top position player prospects Kevin Plawecki, Brandon Nimmo, and Dilson Herrera will probably get some time there, too. Maybe Cesar Puello will even play his way on to the Mets' 2015 bench.
