The Mets finished their series against the Braves with a win, with Zack Wheeler throwing 6 innings of "good enough" work. He gave up a pair of home runs, while striking out five and walking two in the victory. The top of the lineup gave Wheeler plenty of help, you can see what they did in the box score here.

It's doubleheader day for the Mets on Friday, with 1:35 and 7:05 starts against the Nationals. The forecast looks good in the capital today, so both games will probably be played without a hitch. The 1:35 game will feature 26th man Jenrry Mejia, who will likely be sent right back to Triple-A following the game. Matt Harvey will start the second game, so happy Harvey Day to everyone.

Mejia will be pitching injured today, and he'll be doing so for the remainder of the 2013 season. He'll require surgery at the end of the season, and hopefully that injury doesn't hurt him too much today.

The Mets made a (very) minor trade yesterday, shipping out a pair of non-prospects for $360,500 of international cap space.
