Despite an innings limit, the Mets realize they will need Harvey in the postseason should they make it.
Sandy Alderson offered some insight into the Mets' plans to limit Matt Harvey's innings in 2015 during a discussion with reporters. The general manager expects Harvey to be available to pitch in April and October should the Mets reach the postseason.
Alderson is considering many options to monitor Harvey's workload in his return from Tommy John surgery. Mike Vorkunov of The Star-Ledger speculates that the Mets can delve into their minor league system to make an occasional spot start in place of Harvey, limit Harvey from pitching past the sixth inning, or keep him from exceeding 90 pitches.

— Jared Diamond (@jareddiamond) November 19, 2014Alderson also mentioned the possibility of shutting down Harvey for a couple weeks during the season, similarly to how the team placed Jacob deGrom on the disabled list in August last season when the team felt the rookie needed a break from pitching.
There still doesn't appear to be a definitive plan as to how the Mets will limit Harvey's innings in 2015, but the Dark Knight will definitely be restricted to a certain extent.
