Here's some early Hot Stove prospect trade speculation: John Harper at the New York Daily News reported this weekend that the New York Mets and the Chicago Cubs look like natural trade partners. The Mets want a young shortstop, the Cubs want young pitching, and it doesn't take a genius to see that a match could be possible given what each organization has in the farm system.
The Cubs are rumored to be very interested in Noah Syndergaard, while the Mets covet Addison Russell or Javier Baez. Starlin Castro could also be a trade possibility, although according to Harper the Mets would not give up Syndergaard for Castro, who is older than Russell and Baez and doesn't have the same kind of impact bat. That doesn't mean something else couldn't be worked out for a Castro trade of course.

So let's play armchair GM and discuss these options.
A) Is Syndergaard for Russell a fair trade?
B) Is Syndergaard for Baez a fair trade?
C) Is Syndergaard for Castro a fair trade?
D) If you don't like C, put together a Mets prospect package that would be fair for Castro.
