New York Mets outfielder Jordany Valdespin had a confrontation with manager Terry Collins on Saturday following a demotion to Triple-A Las Vegas, with Valdespin allegedly calling Collins a "c--ksucker" and demanding to be put on the disabled list, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Valdespin has been a lightning rod for criticism with the Mets, as the 25-year-old caused a stir with some excessive showboating during a home run trot earlier this season. Valdespin has also been photographed wearingMiami Marlins gear, a division rival of New York.

It's unclear at this time what kind of disciplinary action will be taken against Valdespin, but the Mets would not be missing much if they decided to release the outfielder. Valdespin has a hitting line of just .188/.250/.316 with four home runs and 16 RBI this season. He has not recorded a hit since June 22 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
