LAS VEGAS 8, SALT LAKE 5 (Box)

The 51s got out to a quick start, and continued piling on throughout the game. They scored two in the 1^st, and another in the 2^nd, and another two in the 6^th. Jacob deGrom, despite allowing eight hits, was able to limit the damage and work in and out of danger, allowing only one run apiece in Salt Lake's 2^nd and 3^rd. Relievers Sean Henn and Robert Carson made things a little interesting, allowing a run in the 7^th, 8^th, and 9^th, but Las Vegas' three run lead was held.

ST. LUCIE 1, CHARLOTTE 5 (Box)

Domingo Tapia pitched about as well as you could ask him, but was the hard luck loser in St. Lucie's loss to the Stone Crabs last night. Tapia pitched six plus innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs, walking one and striking out seven. He also boasted a strong 8:3 groundball to flyball ratio. Charlotte scored the game's first run in the 4^th, because of a Robbie Shields throwing error. After St. Lucie tied the game up in the 7^th on Dustin Lawley eighteenth home run of the year, Charlotte went to down in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs. Tapia got the first two outs easily enough, but allowed consecutive singles and a walk, leading to his departure. His replacement, Cody Satterwhite, allowed a two-run single to the very next batter. With men on the corners, the Stone Crabs executed a delayed double steal, and Lucas Bailey, their catcher, stole home. Satterwhite eventually got out of the inning, but gave up three earned runs, all charged to Ynoa, and one unearned run, charged to himself. In the 8^th, St. Lucie loaded the bases, but Lawley was unable to come through, and grounded into an inning-ending double play. In the 9^th, Kevin Plawecki got as far as second base, but Charlotte reliever Matt Ramsey was able to close the door.

AUGUSTA 1, SAVANNAH 8 (Box)

The Sand Gnats got out a quick 3-0 with an eventful 1^st inning. With bases loaded and no outs, Cole Frenzel worked a walk to score the game's first run. Eudy Pina followed with a sac fly and Jeff Reynolds with a single, driving in two more runs before Augusta starter Joe Biagini managed to get a handle on things and get out of the inning. They scored another three runs- one in the 3^rd, one in the 4^th, and one in the 6^th- before the GreenJackets scored their first run of the game, in the 8^th inning. Suffice to say, Gabriel Ynoa, who won his 10^th game of the year, was pitching well. For good measure, Savannah scored another two runs in the bottom of the 8^th.

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones(9-13)

LOWELL 5, BROOKLYN 2 (Box)

The Spinners got on the board first, with a run in the 1^st inning, and never once relinquished the lead. Carlos Valdez had a rough 5^th inning, allowing three runs. In the 7^th inning, Brooklyn finally got on the board, but an ill-timed double play killed the momentum of the inning, and limited their scoring to just one run. A second double play in the 9^th inning killed the team's momentum for a second time. Matt Oberste and Alex Sanchez led off the inning with back-to-back HBPs, but a double play erased Sanchez from the basepaths, and put Brooklyn in a two-out hole. Brooklyn got one run out of it, but ultimatley were unable to catch Lowell.

GREENEVILLE 2, KINGSPORT 3 (Box)

Kingsport and Greeneville fought for control of the score all night, but the Mets eventually came out the winners. Kingsport scored the game's first run, when Adrian Abreu manufactured a run in the 2^nd inning. Greeneville got the run right back in the 4^th, so someone once again had to do something about that score. This time, it was Michael Bernal, who manufactured a run of his own, and came around to score. Once again, the Astros tied the game, scoring in the 8^th. In the bottom of the 9^th, Jeff Diehl said, "Forget this", hit a walk-off home run, and put the game to bed.
