A review of the Mets' position players over the last seven days.
The Mets bombarded the A's with ten runs on Tuesday night to begin the last week of play, but they were a little bit up and down from there. In total, the team hit .290/.330/.442 this week, good for a 119 wRC+ that was the third-best mark in baseball. Their 26 runs scored, however, ranked right in the middle of the pack at 15th.

---|---|---|---|
Bobby Abreu, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Abreu only made five trips to the plate and managed to get on base two of those times, once with a single and once by drawing a walk. |
Eric Campbell, 1B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | With regular playing time in David Wright’s place, Campbell hit kind of like David Wright with a .409/.409/.545 line for the week. |
Travis d’Arnaud, C | -- | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Since his return from Vegas on Tuesday, d’Arnaud has hit .368/.400/.579 with a home run. That’s pretty, pretty good. |
Lucas Duda, 1B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | In twenty plate appearances, Duda simply raked, posting a .316/.350/.684 line with a .444 wOBA and 192 wRC+ for the week. |
Wilmer Flores, SS | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Flores had only two plate appearances this week before he was demoted to make space for Juan Lagares on the roster. |
Curtis Granderson, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | A great month came to a screeching halt with a miserable series in Pittsburgh. Granderson had just a .544 OPS on the week. |
Juan Lagares, CF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Lagares finally came back, but his bat was missing. He had a .206 wOBA and 28 wRC+ in four games. |
Daniel Murphy, 2B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | With a .333 average, .333 on-base percentage, and. 407 slugging percentage, it was a perfectly cromulent week for a second baseman who epitomizes cromulence. |
Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Nieuwenhuis only made six trips to the plate—not a surprise given the Mets’ very crowded outfield—but did very well in them. |
Anthony Recker, C | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | With a .600 OPS on the week, Recker wasn’t exactly great. |
Taylor Teagarden, C | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Placed on the disabled list when d’Arnaud returned, Teagarden might get another shot with the Mets if Recker does not produce by the time he is healthy. |
Ruben Tejada, SS | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Everyone’s favorite shortstop hit .348/.444/.348 for the week. That’s about as good as it gets for Tejada. |
David Wright, 3B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Wright didn’t hit much in the three games he played, but his injury is far more concerning than a three-game sample of hitting stats. Let’s hope it really is as minor as his Saturday diagnosis says. |
Chris Young, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Young only hit .200 on the week, but he slugged .800 for a staggering .600 isolated slugging. He did so by hitting three home runs, which gave him a .441 wOBA and 190 wRC+ for the week. |
Eric Young Jr., OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Like Tejada, Young was at his personal best this week, with a .333 average and .412 on-base percentage. Unlike Tejada, he managed a tiny bit of power with a .400 SLG. |
