Thursday highlight from the Giants' farm: Christian Jones had 7.0 scoreless IP.  Also notable, Adam Duvall homered and singled.

Fresno: 3B Adam Duvall: 2 for 4, HR

Fresno: SP Edwin Escobar: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 K--2 HR, 1 HB

Duvall led off the 2nd inning with his 23rd HR.  Panik was one of three other Grizzlies with two hits.  He hit his 13th double while reaching base three times.

Escobar had his third straight start with 4+ ER.  With 4+ ER in six of his last eight starts, he has a 5.31 ERA.

AA: Richmond lost to Binghamton 6-0
(allowing four insurance runs in the 6th inning)

Richmond: RF-CF Jarrett Parker: 2 for 4, 2B

Richmond: SP Kyle Crick: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 7 K--1 HR
Richmond: RP Andrew Carignan: 1.2 IP, 3 K
Richmond: SP Tyler Pill: 8.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K--1 WP

Parker's 12th double and single were two of the Flying Squirrels' five hits.  He has hit .238/.340/.403 through 231 AB in his second Eastern League campaign.

Crick had a season-high 7 K.  But with over half his batters going the distance in their count (4 BB and 7 K among 21 TBF), a high pitch count prevented him from finishing the 5th inning.  He threw 100 pitches (56 strikes).  Carignan had 3 K in 1.2 perfect IP.  The Mets' Pill had one of the best starts of his career with 9 K in 8.0 scoreless IP.

A+: San Jose defeated Visalia 7-2
(adding four insurance runs in the 9th inning)

San Jose: CF Jesus Galindo: 3 for 4, SB

San Jose: Joe Biagini: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
San Jose: RP Stephen Johnson: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Batting leadoff, Galindo singled three times, raising his AVG to .291, and had his 21st SB.

Biagini bounced back from his last start (6 ER) and the all-star break with a solid effort.  Johnson pitched a perfect 7th inning.

A-: Augusta lost to Asheville 1-0
(allowing the game's lone run in the 9th inning)

Augusta: C Ty Ross: 1 for 3, BB, SO

Augusta: SP Christian Jones: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

Ross was the lone GreenJacket to reach base twice, although his OBP remains below .300.

Jones had his strongest start of the year, at least statistically.  He matched a season-high 7 K and faced just three batters over the minimum in 7.0 scoreless IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Hillsboro 4-3

Salem-Keizer: C Fernando Pujadas: 2 for 4

Salem-Keizer: SP Jose Reyes: 5.2 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--1 WP

Pujadas was one of two Volcanoes with two hits, getting just his second and third hits of the young season.

In his second start, Reyes went through the lineup three times (27 TBF) and did not record a fly ball out, allowing 10 H and getting 10 ground ball outs.

DSL: Gigantes lost to Rockies 6-5 (10 innings)

Dominican: DH Kelvin Beltre: 2 for 5, HR, 2B, SB
Dominican: SP Eber Guzman: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Beltre hit his 3rd HR and 4th double (in 17 games).  Guzman had his second straight start yielding 8 H.  His BAA is now above .300 after four starts.
