Triple-A - Las Vegas 51's (40-31)_______________________________________

LAS VEGAS 1, OKLAHOMA CITY 5 (Box)

  • 2B Anthony Seratelli: 2-3, R, 3B, BB, CS
  • SS Omar Quintanilla: 1-4
  • C Travis d'Arnaud: 1-4, E; My personal opinion on when d'Arnaud returns to the Mets is tied to whenever his Super 2 is delayed. That's not what I want, but it's what I think the FO will do.
  • DH Allan Dykstra: 0-4, 2 K
  • RF Cory Vaughn: 0-3, 2 K; still can't believe they bumped him up to Vegas. I would love to know the thought process behind the decision.
  • CF Kirk Nieuwenhuis: 0-4, 3 K
  • 1B Brandon Allen: 0-2, BB
  • LF Cesar Puello: 0-3; That sub-.100 batting average in the month of June (*) isn't exactly helping the #FreeCesar movement. *corrected
  • RHP Noah Syndergaard: 4 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 3 K; Probably two or three more starts and I would bring Syndergaard up to the big leagues. It's time to start facing the highest level of competition and making adjustments there.

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (38-31)____________________________________

NO GAME (SCHEDULE)

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (39-29)________________________________________

CHARLOTTE 2, ST LUCIE 6 (Box)

It seems odd to me that the promotions haven't started yet, especially since the FSL all-star game has passed. I guess it's possible they're waiting for the Eastern League all-star game, but that game isn't until July 16th, which seems a ways off. (Update: The Florida State League's 140 game schedule is split into two halves, so St Lucie has two games left. They are currently a half game back of Fort Myers, who has three left to play.)

Low-A -Savannah Sand Gnats(42-20)__________________________________

NO GAME (SCHEDULE)

Short-A -Brooklyn Cyclones(2-2)__________________________________

BROOKLYN 2, STATEN ISLAND 7 (Box)

Star of the Night

Looks like I gotta go with Nimmo, who picked up his first couple extra base hits in a long while.

Goat of the Night

Probably Kirk Nieuwenhuis and his three strikeouts in four plate appearances. A quick perusal of the Mets 40-man roster and you will see a couple of names you would jettison before Kirk, which is a testament to the lack of depth the major league team has.
