After a rough 1st inning, Escobar settled down with four scoreless frames thereafter.  He has yielded 4+ ER in four of his last six starts.  Cordier pitched a perfect 8th inning.

AA: Richmond defeated Reading 3-1
(scoring all three runs in the 7th inning)

Richmond: CF Tyler Graham: 2 for 5, HR, SB
Richmond: 3B Mario Lisson: 3 for 4, 2B
Richmond: C Eliezer Zambrano: 3 for 4, E
Richmond: LF-3B Myles Schroder: 2 for 4, HR, 2B

Richmond: SP Kelvin Marte: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K--1 HR

Schroder's 1st HR this year was a two-run shot in the 7th inning to give the Flying Squirrels the lead.  Later in the inning, Graham added his 3rd HR for an insurance run.  He also had his 28th SB.  Lisson and Zambrano each had three hits, raising their AVGs to .289 and .316.

After a couple relief appearances, Marte made his first start in over a walk.  He pitched efflectively allowing just 1 R in 6.0 IP.

San Jose: 2B Blake Miller: 3 for 4, 2B
San Jose: 1B Brian Ragira: 3 for 4, 2B

For just the second time in his last nine starts, Biagini allowed more than 3 ER.  The 6 ER today matched a season-high, but his ERA remains below 4.00.

Johnson's tenth start this year was one of his two best starts this year.  He had allowed 2+ ER in each of his last six appearances (including five starts).
