The Mets lost their sixth straight game.
You’ve heard this one before: The Mets scored a couple of runs in the first inning of a road game but went on to lose. This time, they did so as they got swept in San Francisco in their sixth straight loss.
After a two-run home run by Curtis Granderson in the first, Zack Wheeler gave up three runs in the second. He gave up another in the third and was pulled by Terry Collins with two outs in the fourth. Granderson made the game close again with a long home run in the sixth, but the Giants put up a run in the seventh to make it 5-3. The Mets scored once more in the eighth, but the Giants answered with a run in the bottom of that inning. That was it for the scoring, and the Mets lost 6-4.
