Love the Mets.
The Mets won the first of four games against the Yankees this evening, as they twice came from three runs behind to beat their cross-town rivals. Bartolo Colon had an awful start, but the Mets’ lineup was up to the task of coming back, and the Mets’ bullpen—Jenrry Mejia, specifically—was very effective in making the lineup’s rallies hold up for a victory.
Down 4-1, the Mets tied the game on home runs by Travis d’Arnaud and Curtis Granderson. And down 7-4, the Mets came back to tie the game again and took a two-run lead after that. And despite getting into an awful jam in the ninth inning, Kyle Farnsworth got out of it thanks to an amazing defensive play by Lucas Duda—his second such play of the game.
