Final Score: Marlins 1, Mets 0 -- Ozuna's walk-off sac fly helps fish foil Mets for third straight time

Zack Wheeler and Tom Koehler treated fans to a nice afternoon pitcher's duel before the Marlins pulled away with a run in the ninth.

Zack Wheeler struck out seven batters and allowed just seven batters to reach base in six innings. The Mets also got a solid pair of innings from Jeurys Familia and Carlos Torres, but Torres's second inning proved to be the downfall of a team that could only manage two hits and a walk against eight innings of Tom Koehler.

Giancarlo Stanton led off the ninth with a line drive single to left, and Torres followed that up by walking Casey McGehee. Garrett Jones got Stanton over to third with a fly ball, and Terry Collins brought on Kyle Farnsworth to see if the veteran could wiggle his way out of a jam the way he did on Monday night.

He could not. Marcell Ozuna hit a line drive to right-center field that was shallow enough for Juan Lagares to have a play on. He caught the ball cleanly, but his throw was a bit off line. Still, if Anthony Recker had fielded it cleanly, he may have had a chance to tag out Stanton. Instead, the ball bounced away, the game's only run was scored, and the Marlins did that thing with the water bottles again.

The Mets have not scored a run in the last 23 innings. The team has a day off and will return to Queens to face the Phillies on Friday.
