The Mets weren't exactly on fire at the plate over the past week.
The Mets have hit .218/.296/.318 this season, numbers that translate to a 78 wRC+, which is tied with the Cubs for the second-worst mark in baseball. But they’ve managed to score four runs per game on average, just barely below the National League average of 4.01. By Fangraphs’ baserunning metric, they’ve been pretty good on the bases through April 27, like they were last year, but the team will have to hit better than it has to keep winning games.
