TRAIDS! The Cubs made two moves, first sending pitcher Scott Feldman and C Steve Clevenger to the Orioles in exchange for pitchers Pedro Strop, Jake Arrieta, and about $400,000 in IFA bonus pool money. The Cubs then sent erstwhile reliever Carlos Marmol and about $200,000 in IFA bonus money to the Dodgers in exchange for reliever Matt Guerrier.
MLB umpire Brian Runge was let go by the league due to a drug violation. Rob Neyer looked at the early end of Runge's career, while Deadspin profiled Runge in their "Better Know An Umpire" series last year.
