Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (6-3)______________________________________
FRESNO 5, LAS VEGAS 1 (Box)
Logan Verrett was on pace for a quality start through five and a third, but Fresno's 4-5-6 hitters strung together three straight hits to chase him from the game. Reliever Ryan Reid couldn't stop the bleeding, allowing two inherited runners to score, as well as one more of the earned variety. On the offensive side of the ledger, the 51s lineup mustered a mere four singles.

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (6-2)______________________________________
BINGHAMTON 7, NEW HAMPSHIRE 0 (Box)
The New Hampshire FisherCats are named for a small, weasel like mammal that's native to the northern regions of New England. Locals claim makes high pitched screams that sounds like a person being murdered, but in truth, there's scant evidence that fisher cats can make much of a noise at all.
In any event, Rainy Lara (optional musical accompaniment here) faced the FisherCats last night and the Blue Jays' Double-A affiliate went down without so much of a peep. Lara faced one batter over the minimum over seven shutout innings and expended just 78 pitches in the process. Brian Burgamy, a 32-year old vet whose resume features stints with the St. Paul Saints, the Sugar Land Skeeters, and Mexico's Campeche Piratas, homered twice, while recent Nippon League import Matt Clark also went deep.
- CF Darrell Cecilliani: 1-5, 2 RBI
- 3B Brian Burgamy: 2-3, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, E
- 1B Jayce Boyd: 0-5, 2 K
- DH Matt Clark: 1-3, HR, RBI, BB
- LF Dustin Lawley: 0-3, R, BB, K
- RF Cory Vaughn: 0-3, K, CS (Greg's kid also threw out a runner at second)
- SS Matt Reynolds: 2-3. R, BB
- C Xorge Carrillo: 1-3, R, RBI
- 2B Wilfredo Tovar: 1-3. RBI
- RHP Rainy Lara: 7 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 3 K
Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (4-4)______________________________________
ST. LUCIE 6, FT. MYERS 3 (Box)
Dilson Herrera and Brandon Nimmo made for an effective top of the order, combining to go 4-for-9 with a pair of runs scored. The Wyoming Wonder knocked in a pair, too. The biggest hit of the night came off the bat of Cam Maron, who singled home Aderlin Rodriguez in the eighth to unknot a 3-all tie. Steven Matz pitched well in the no-decision, striking out six against just one walk and a perfect 10-0 ground out-to-fly out ratio.
- DH Dilson Herrera: 2-5, R, 2B
- CF Brandon Nimmo: 2-4, 2 RBI, 2 K
- 1B Jairo Perez: 0-3, K
- 3B Aderlin Rodriguez: 1-4, R, K
- 2B T.J. Rivera: 2-4, 2B, 2 E
- C Cam Maron: 1-3, R, RBI, BB
- RF Eudy Pina: 1-4, R
- SS Phillip Evans: 2-3, R, RBI, BB
- LF Maikis De La Cruz: 0-3, RBI, K
- LHP Steven Matz: 6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 6 K
Low-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (5-3)______________________________________
SAVANNAH 4, ROME 1 (Box)
Keeping with the trend of solid starting pitching outside of the bandboxes of the PCL, Robert Gsellman turned in a fine performance for Savannah last night. The only costly mistake the former 13th round draftee made was first inning throwing error that eventually led to a run scored. Stefan Sabol provided all the offensive support the Sand Gnats would need with a two-run single. He's off to a scorching hot start this season: nine hits (three doubles) in 19 at-bats and five walks drawn.
- SS Gavin Cecchini: 0-4, BB, K
- 3B Jeff McNeil: 0-4, R
- 2B L.J. Mazzilli: 0-3, R, BB, K
- DH Jared King: 0-3, BB, K
- LF Stefan Sabol: 2-3. R. 2B, 2 RBI, BB, SB
- 1B Dom Smith: 0-3. BB, K
- RF Victor Cruzado: 1-4. 3B, 2 RBI, K
- C Colton Plaia: 2-4, K
- CF Patrick Biondi: 0-3
- RHP Robert Gsellman: 7 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, BB 6 K
Star of the Night
Plenty of star stuff in the Mets minor league cosmos last night, but let's give Rainy Lara the honor. Seven shutout innings while averaging just over eleven pitches a frame should get you a commendation.
Goat of the Night
Horns for the entire Las Vegas roster. The best that can be said about them is that at least they had the decency to lose in a timely fashion last night, unlike the big league club.
