Triple-A - Las Vegas 51's (3-1)_______________________________________

FRESNO 5, LAS VEGAS 6 (Bolutzx)

Fresno got on the board early, scoring a run in the 1^st, but the 51s quickly recovered, scoring a pair of their own in the bottom of the inning to put them ahead 2-1. The rest of the game was a back-and-forth affair: Fresno tied it in the 3^rd, Vegas moved ahead in the 4^th, Fresno tied the score once again in the 6^th and even pulled ahead in the 7^th, Vegas edged back ahead in the bottom of the 7^th. Going into the 9^th, the 51s had a narrow edge, winning 5-4. With Jeff Walters on the mound, Gary Brown (who went 3-5 and was a HR shy of the cycle) hit a double, and eventually came around to score, tying the score and handing Walters his first blown save of the year. In the bottom of the 9^th, with two outs, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Zach Lutz hit back-to-back doubles, with the latter driving in the former for the go-ahead RBI.

AKRON 4, BINGHAMTON 5 (Box)

The B-Mets ended their series with the ‘Duckies with a win, bringing their record in the young 2014 season back to .500. They started the game out strong, scratching out a run on a Matt Clark double that scored Kevin Plawecki in the 1^st, and then again in the 3^rd, when Rubberduck third baseman Giovanny Urshela mishandled a Jayce Boyd groundball, allowing Plawecki to score once again. In the 6^th, Jack Leathersich replaced Hansel Robles and promptly gave up two runs, tying the game. In the bottom of the inning, the B-Mets pushed one run across the plate, and in the 8^th, they plated another two. Chase Bradford gave up two runs in the 9^th, but held on to notch his second save.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (1-3)________________________________________

ST. LUCIE 0, PALM BEACH 1 (Box)

St. Lucie dropped another to Palm Beach, this time in what was a good showing for pitching on both sides. Domingo Tapia and Cardinal starter Cory Jones matched zero after zero for the first few innings, both scattering a few hits here and there but nothing stronger than a double. The double that St. Lucie DH, Maikis De La Cruz, hit in the 3^rd was erased when Brandon Nimmo struck out to end the inning. The double that Tapia allowed in the 4^th to Palm Beach third baseman Breyvic Valera eventually came home to score- on a wild pitch by Tapia, no less. Neither starter made it past the 5^th inning, leaving the game in the hands of each team's respective bullpen. Both St. Lucie and Palm Beach had their fair share of scoring opportunities- the Mets left a man at third base in the 5^th and 7^th innings, while the Cardinals had a runner called out at home in the 5^th- but both bullpens held steadfast, making that wild pitch the source of the game's only run.
