The Mets have struggled to score runs all season, and this week was no exception. As has typically been the case, a few Mets were pretty good this week, but the grand majority were not. The Mets have averaged 3.92 runs scored per game this year, which ranks 22nd in Major League Baseball. Believe it or not, that puts them ahead of the Yankees, who have averaged 3.83 runs scored per game.
But the Mets' .292 wOBA for the year is terrible and the second-worst in all of baseball. Much of that figure has to do with the team's dreadful .295 OBP. They get a slight bump in the rankings from wRC+, which accounts for park factors, as their 86 ranks 25th in the game.
This week's meter covers the Mets' past six games, from June 24 through 30.

John Buck, C | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Buck's long home run yesterday couldn't save him from the red arrow because he had a .158 OBP in five games. |
Marlon Byrd, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Although he hit a home run, Byrd had a pretty quiet week at the plate overall. |
Lucas Duda, LF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Duda is not yet participating in baseball activities. He's just receiving treatment on his intercostal injury for now. |
Juan Lagares, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Avert your eyes. Lagares had a .433 OPS this week. |
Zacahary Lutz, IF | -- | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Thanks to a hit and two walks in very limited playing time, Lutz got on base in half of his plate appearances. |
Daniel Murphy, 2B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | With a .348 OBP driven solely by hits—Murphy's not the type of hitter to draw walks, especially this year—it was a productive week at the plate. |
Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Kirk's .450 OPS in five trips to the plate wasn't good. He could end up back in Vegas sooner than later. |
Omar Quintanilla, SS | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Q followed up a great week with a putrid one, hitting .100/.182/.150. He made a few nifty plays in the field, though. |
Anthony Recker, C | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Recker failed to reach base in five plate appearances. Oh well. |
Josh Satin, 1B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Did anyone ever doubt that Josh Satin would play so well in the big leagues? This week: .429/.500/.571. |
Ruben Tejada, SS | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Tejada has begun playing in rehab games in the Gulf Coast League. |
Justin Turner, IF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Everyone's favorite pie thrower is throwing the baseball but not yet swinging the bat. |
Jordany Valdespin, 2B/OF | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Zeroes across the board in five plate apperances for JV1 this week. Like Nieuwenhuis, he seems like a candidate for demotion once the Mets start activating other players. |
David Wright, 3B | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Wright didn't hit often or for much power, but he still managed a .381 OBP. |
Eric Young Jr. | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. ![]() | Some of the shine has already come off, as Young hit just .280/.296/.320 for the week. |
