The Mets' major league spring training roster continues to slim down.

After this morning's round of major league spring training cuts, the Mets sent three more players to minor league camp:starting pitcher Cory Mazzoni, first baseman Matt Clark, and, after their game this afternoon, relief pitcher Miguel Socolovich.

Mazzoni posted an ugly 16.20 ERA in five spring training appearances but seemed to impress Terry Collins at times. He spent last season with the Double-A Binghamton Mets and had a 4.36 ERA and 2.70 FIP in 13 appearances. He was 17th on Amazin' Avenue's list of the Mets' top 25 prospects for 2014 and is entering his age-24 season.

Socolovich didn't allow any runs in his spring outings, and he was pretty dominant as a relief pitcher in Triple-A in 2012 with the Cubs' affiliate. He struggled in a dozen big league appearances that year but is still 27 years old and figures to get a shot should one of the Mets' relievers get hurt or prove ineffective.

Clark, a former Padres farmhand, spent last year playing in Japan, where he posted a .785 OPS.
